According to another statement by SABC, the discontinuation was due to unresolved contractual obligations and breaches identified and communicated formally to Bakwena Productions. The channel further stated that, the discontinuation of Pimville did not necessarily mean the end of Pimville. The statement also noted that SABC will continue to assess various operational options regarding the future of the production.
As the viewers are waiting for more updates to be communicated should there be material developments, actors are left in the cold. One such is Gail Mabalane, who played Detective Pheello Mohapi. The multi award-winning actress is sad for everyone who was earning an income through Pimville. They are now left without work, and we can only imagine how life is. Gail also feels that viewers deserve to see Pimville back onscreen, as it had an interesting storyline.
