SABC2 Unveils New Star Studded Drama to Replace Muvhango. The last episode of Muvhango was aired on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. The longstanding SABC2 drama was then temporarily replaced by Giyani: Land of Blood season I.
SABC has now confirmed a permanent replacement, come 2026. Pimville, a new telenovela by Kagiso Modupe of Bakwena Productions, will take over the 9pm slot on SABC2. Pimville shines a light on the pulse of township life where dreams collide with reality, secrets unravel, and family bonds are tested. With an exceptional ensemble cast and a storyline rich in authenticity, Pimville is poised to become one of South Africa’s most compelling television experiences.
Pimville boasts a stellar cast of some of the best actors we have locally. Among those are Gail Mabalane, Thapelo Mokoena, Matli Mohapeloa, Keke Mphuthi, Mondli Makhoba, Michelle Mosalakae, Clementine Mosimane, Jesse Suntele, Fulu Modibedi, Lilian Dube, Thabo Malema, Charmaine Mtinta, Mandla Gaduka and Eve Rasimeni.
