Social Media Reacts to the Untimely Passing of Investigator in Thabo Bester Case. The plot thickens. On an unexpected turn of events, the police have confirmed the death of a senior investigator in the Thabo Bester case. The officer is also the provincial head of organized crime in the Free State.
The officer, whose name is still withheld allegedly shot and killed himself at a police station in Bloemfontein this afternoon. He is described the officer as a hardworking, loyal and dedicated detective with 31 years service. According to police spokesperson Brig Athlenda Mathe, in-house employee health and wellness experts which includes chaplains have been dispatched to provide psycho-social services to the family and colleagues of the deceased member.
The deceased was at court this morning for the judgement in the urgent court bid by Dr Nandipha Magudumana today. He was among those who witnessed Magudumana losing her case, with costs. Judge Phillip Loubser ruled against her claims that she was blindfolded and abducted in Tanzania. This also means that she will remain in custody at the Kroonstad Correctional Centre and face trial for her case.
