Applications Open for the NSFAS 2027 Funding Programme. Minister of Higher Education and Training Mr Buti Manamela announces the opening of NSFAS 2027 applications and the readiness of our universities, TVET & CET colleges for the 2027 academic year.

Who Can Apply

• South African citizens studying or planning to study at a public university or TVET college
• SASSA grant recipients
• Students from households earning up to R350 000 a year
• Students with disabilities from households earning up to R600 000 a year

How to Apply

Create Your myNSFAS Account

• Register with your ID number, a working email address and your own cellphone number.

Gather Your Documents

• Use the checklist below. Scan or photograph each document clearly so it is easy to read.

Check Your Details

• Make sure your name and ID match your Home Affairs record exactly.

Apply On Opening Day

• Complete your profile, upload your documents and submit. Then track your status on myNSFAS.

Supporting Documents

• Your South African ID or smart ID card number
• ID copies of your parents or legal guardian
• A death certificate where a parent has passed away
• Signed and dated NSFAS consent form
• Parent or legal guardian signature where you are under 18
