Outside Broadcast Technician at Heart 104.9FM
Heart 104.9FM is searching for a dynamic team player to join our technical team. You will be part of the team providing the soundtrack to our listeners’ lives.
The purpose of the position on offer is to action and provide outside broadcasts and maintain broadcast systems.
Responsibilities include:
• Manage Station’s transmission function by ensuring overall success of broadcast transmissions. Including the operating of studio links, monitoring strength, and clarity of signals.
• Maintain audio equipment by ensuring proper management and maintenance. Provide first line repairs and identify fault finding on system.
• Manage outside broadcast system by operating radio transmitter in order to broadcast, set up timeously, control audio equipment to regulate volumes and quality of sound. Regular maintenance of outside broadcast equipment and tests prior to an event.
Requirements
Requirements include:
• Grade 12
• Qualification in Sound Engineering advantages
• Minimum three to five years’ experience in sound engineering
• Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends
• Provide afterhours support
• Self-motivated
• Ability to prioritise
• Knowledge of industry sector advantages
• Must have a drivers licence/Code 10 advantages
• Must have own transport
• Ability to work under pressure
• Deadline driven
• Energetic
• Good interpersonal skills
