Job Overview
The Pharmacist Assistant (QPB) will support the pharmacist in delivering professional pharmaceutical services while performing day-to-day dispensary administration in accordance with Clicks’ Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). The role includes assisting with medicine preparation, stock control, customer care and providing general health advice within the approved scope of practice. You will help maintain high standards of accuracy, compliance and customer satisfaction while ensuring the dispensary operates efficiently. Key Responsibilities
• Deliver excellent customer service and patient care.
• Assist with the daily administration of the dispensary.
• Support efficient stock control and medicine repacking.
• Perform accurate compounding within scope of practice.
• Provide general health and over-the-counter product advice.
• Maintain high housekeeping and merchandising standards.
• Assist with medication preparation according to company procedures.
• Ensure compliance with pharmacy legislation and Clicks SOPs.
• Maintain accurate dispensary records and documentation.
• Support pharmacists with operational and administrative duties.
• Complete additional operational tasks as required.
• Promote a safe, organised and professional dispensary environment.
Requirements and Skills
• Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics is essential.
• Must meet the minimum Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) requirements for the applicable Pharmacist Assistant level.
• Strong knowledge of over-the-counter (OTC) and health products.
• Understanding of SAPC regulations and relevant pharmacy legislation.
• Customer service orientated with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good numerical and calculation skills.
• High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
• Ability to work effectively within a team.
• Good planning and organisational skills.
• Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and business operating systems.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain regulatory compliance.
