Zwai Bala Gives An Update On the Future of The Bala Family Reality Show. When it comes to epic reality shows, South Africa is among the best. Most reality shows always come through with entertainment, drama, glitz, glam and most importantly, relatability. One such show, is The Bala Family, which has aired for two seasons. It stars the Bala family members, Mama Veronica, Pinky, Zwai, Loyiso, Jennifer and Phelo. There was also Sebenzile Jafta, affectionately known as Tata Jafta, who passed away in February 2024.
As a number of reality shows keep on coming back, many are hoping for a season III of The Bala Family. Sadly, it seems like that is not happening. One of the key cast members Zwai, has shared an update with regards to the future of the show. He started off by acknowledging the pleas of their fans. Zwai then explained that they also wanted the show to continue, but as of now they are not certain of another season. Just like their fans, the family is disappointed, as they had hope for season III. Zwai went on to thank their fans for believing in them on the past two seasons.

So we owe you an honest answer.
For close to two years, we have been trying to make another season of The Bala Family happen. We wanted to do it. We were ready to open our lives, our homes, our relationships and our music to you again.
But Season 3 is not happening in the near future.
And we want to be clear about something:
That decision was not ours.
We won’t pretend we’re not disappointed. We are.
Because The Bala Family has never been just a television programme to us. It is our family, our history, our relationships, our music and our name. Putting that into the world requires an enormous emotional investment from every one of us.
And you have reminded us, time and time again, that it means something to you too.
Through your messages.
Through the conversations online.
Through the packed venues.
And especially through what happens whenever this family gets together and sings.
Because as much as people may talk about the drama, the heart of this story has always been the family.
The generations of talent.
The music.
The laughter.
The disagreements.
The healing.

And that inexplicable thing that happens when we are all together.
We were ready.
The audience was ready.
