IEB 2020 Matric Results Out #MatricResults2020. The year 2020 was such a tough year for students. Because of lockdown, students missed a lot of school, and some had to adapt to the new normal of studying online. At the end of the day, our learners as well as teachers did their out most best, with thousands even sitting for the 2020 Matric final exam.

The Independent Examinations Board has just released and its all joy around the country. Just over 12,000 full-time candidates and about 1,100 part-time candidates sat for the independent exams. Despite the interruption of learning last year, the IEB class of 2020 has registered a pass rate of 98.07%. This is slightly down from 98.82% last year. Of those candidates who passed, 88.42% (89.51% in 2019) achieved entry to degree study; 8.14% (7.91% in 2019) qualified for entry to diploma study; and 1.51% (1.4% in 2019) achieved entry for study at the higher certificate level.

As for the 2020 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination results, they will be released at the different schools at 08:00 on Tuesday, 23 February 2021. These results will be made available to the media houses and Service Providers on Monday, 22 February 2021, at 07:00.

The publication of results will be embargoed until 06:00 on Tuesday, 23 February 2021 for all PEDs results, except in the Western Cape. The Western Cape data will be released to the media houses and Service Providers on Tuesday, 23 February 2021 at 12:00. President Cyril Ramaphosa has praised the 2020 Matric class for achieving against all odds.

If you aced the examination, continue to soar and reach your greatest potential. If you didn’t do as well as you expected, there is always a next time, dust yourself up and try again. The closing date to apply for remarking is March 3 and the results from remarking will be released on March 26.
