Thuli Phongolo’s Skills As a DJ Get Questioned. South Africa is one country that is blessed with some of the best female DJs. You can think of the likes of multi award winning DJ Zinhle, DJ Cosmo, Uncle Waffles, DJ Hlo, Durban Gogo Owami Mafokate, Lamiez Holworthy, Lerato Kganyago, Dineo Ranaka, Pinky Girl and so many others. Many of these started off as media personalities, before turning to the decks.
Another female DJ, who is always booked has to be be Thuli Phongolo. The talented actress was mentored by the late Khombela Nhleko, popularly known as DJ Khomza, who has also mentored the successful DJ Shimza. Thuli has been bagging so many gigs of recent, which can only mean that she is among the best we have.
Over the weekend, Thuli P was one of the DJs who entertained the top 10, remaining Big Brother Mzansi housemates. It was evident that there were nerves when she started her set, but as time went by, she was playing hot Amapiano songs, much to the pleasure of the housemates.
The outside world, however, wasn’t quite impressed with Thuli’s delivery. They complained that she played a song from start to finish, and there was no skill in doing that. Many dubbed her the worst DJ to ever come to the Big Brother Mzansi house. Thuli is one celeb who always engage with social media users, no matter what is being said about her. This time around though, she is yet to respond to the criticism.
