Allocator Opportunity at Truworths Distribution Cape Town

Truworths has an opening for an Allocator in its Distribution Department at the head office in Cape Town. This permanent, on-site role plays a key part in managing how merchandise moves from the Truworths Distribution Centre (TDC) to stores across South Africa and beyond.

The Allocator serves as a vital link between the Distribution Centre and the Merchandise Departments at Head Office. The role involves creating allocation instructions for merchandise orders, ensuring stock reaches stores efficiently. While administrative in nature, this position is central to supporting the merchandising team and driving the business’s sales objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Distribute stock to stores based on allocation plans.
  • Manage a sample portfolio and interbranch samples.
  • Add duty codes to individual merchandise styles.
  • Compile weekly reports and respond to feedback from merchandise teams.
  • Liaise with TDC staff to resolve queries.
  • Act as backup for other areas in the department when required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric certificate with strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of MFP, RMS Viewer, Size curves, JDA, and BDM systems.
  • Good administration skills.
  • Experience in retail or logistics is advantageous.

Competencies

  • Technical: Strong numerical ability; intermediate Excel knowledge is beneficial.
  • Behavioural: Energetic, proactive, excellent communication skills, ability to work under pressure, high attention to detail, and a strong team player.
