This year’s list identifies young Africans, mostly below 30 years of age, who are doing remarkable work in their countries to facilitate development in the lives of people in their communities and throughout the continent.

11. Alain Nteff , Cameroon
Alain Nteff is the 23 year old Co-founder and Director at GiftedMom which is an award winning social business, developing innovative and low-cost technologies to improve maternal and infant health. Alain started GiftedMom at 20 and the mission of the venture is to create a world free of maternal and infant deaths and to provide health access to people at the last mile, using innovative mobile health technologies.
12. Raphael obonyo, Uganda
Proscovia Alengot Oromait (23) is a Ugandan university student and politician. She served as the elected Member of Parliament for Usuk County, Katakwi District in the 9th Parlianemt. (2011 to 2016). At age 19, she was the youngest member of parliament in Uganda, and on the African continent.
13. Micheal Mulunga, Namibia
After observing the poor conditions that the youth in Namibia lived with, Michael (27} decided to work youths from one of the poorest communities in his region to start a poultry project as part of them generating an income for themselves. Michael is one of more than 100 young African leaders from 45 countries who were invited to the President’s Forum with Young African Leaders August 3-5 in Washington. He was also a Google’s Zeitgeist Young Minds 2011 Winner.
14. Banke Kuku, Ghana
She is a 19 year old Ghanaian national, the founder of Afrocentric Bamboo Limited. • At present she employs around 30 girls and has also received numerous awards. • Winifred, founded Ghana Bamboo Bikes in 2009 with an aim to fight for carbon free and green planet. • The current turnover of the company is about $10,000 per month.
15. Esther Kinuthia, Kenya
23-year-old Esther is an achiever and an inspiration to many people. Esther Kinuthia recently graduated from Strathmore University specializing in marketing. She was also a marketing intern with Google Kenya and will be soon joining Google Ireland as an Account Strategist. Esther has also been named by Business Daily Africa as one of the Top 40 Under 40 Women in Kenya.
