5 Ways to Start Your Day Off on a High Note

Since we create our realities (yes we do) it’s important that we begin each day with the mood we want to carry through our day. This mood sets the tone and it starts the momentum going.  Momentum is created with energy, so the more thought (which is energy) you put into feeling a certain way will power up the momentum. This momentum can be challenging to stop once it gets moving really fast, and this can happen quickly when you’re feeling bad.

Following are top 5 tips that help you start your day off on a high note.

1. Be Grateful

As soon as you wake up think of something you are grateful for. Then think of ten more things. Feeling grateful is an emotional boost that will start your day on a positive note.

2. Be Optimist

Starting your day in a mood that feels good is entirely within your control, as you get to choose your thoughts and reactions. This is empowering. If you begin the broken record of negative thought as soon as you wake up, take a deep breath and make a new choice.

3. Adjust Your Pattern

Notice your patterns of thought as you start each day and know they are habits that can be changed. Set a new intention for what you want to feel that day and what you want to experience and manifest.

4. Smile

Stand in the mirror and smile. Yes, smile. If you want to get fancier, you can try the mirror trick (it is awesome) but the very act of smiling will make your morning happier. Watching yourself do the smiling- in the mirror just makes it brighter and better.

5. Exercise

If there’s one thing that trumps all of the above for me, it’s a morning surf session. With nothing but waves, a sunrise, and dolphins leaping in the air, this really enables me to start the day off on a high note. All it takes is one good wave. But if you don’t live near an ocean, any form of exercise will do. Go for a walk around your neighborhood even if it’s a short one.
