Lerato Kganyago Remembers Other Late Stars As She Pays Touching Tribute to DJ Warras. Over recent years, we have lost many of our stars, while they were at the peak of their careers. One can think of the likes of Ricky Rick, AKA, Busi Lurayi, Costa Tich, Pearl Shongwe, DJ Somebody, Ebenhaezer Dibakwane, Lumko Johnson, Presley Chweneyagae and Lentswe Bhengu. Their passing is not only sad new to their families, but to their fans and the entertainment industry at large.
Now the nation is mourning yet another star, DJ Warras who was recently gunned down. The media personality and club DJ, had campaigned fiercely against Johannesburg’s hijacked buildings. This is where criminal syndicates illegally occupy high-rises, charge tenants up to R2,000 monthly, and fund broader crime. This is quite a risky job such that Warras held five protection orders due to threats from his activism. Sadly on Wednesday, he got shot and killed near Carlton Centre on Wednesday 16th December. On the day of his passing, DJ Warras, is said to have been doing active with evictions in the Johannesburg CBD, through his security company. DJ Warras died at the age of 40 years, leaving behind three kids, his mother and close family members. The senseless nature of his passing has left his family devastated, broken, and struggling to imagine a world without him.
Warras’ fans, and industry colleagues are also saddened by the nature of his passing. One such is Lerato Kganyago, who worked alongside him on SABC1’s LIVE Amp. The media personality and entrepreneur showed off the beautiful memories, she had with Warras. She also shared that her former colleague was a brother and great adviser. On the pictures, Lerato also included AKA, and Ricky Rick, who passed away in recent years.
“I’m sorry my friend, you stayed consistent over the years, always a brother and a great adviser. I love you forever Warrick,” Lerato said.
