Adendorff Machinery Mart is looking for a Retail Shop Assistant to join its George branch in the Western Cape. The successful candidate will assist customers with selecting the right products, provide excellent service and help maintain a well-organised retail environment. Job Overview and Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide professional, friendly service at all times.
• Assist customers in selecting the correct tools, machinery and equipment for their needs.
• Demonstrate product features and explain product benefits where required.
• Build strong customer relationships through excellent service and product knowledge.
• Support daily sales activities and contribute to achieving store sales targets.
• Replenish stock and ensure shelves are fully stocked and neatly displayed.
• Assist with stock control, stock counts and inventory management.
• Maintain high merchandising standards throughout the store.
• Perform general housekeeping duties to keep the store clean and organised.
• Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally.
• Work closely with team members to ensure smooth daily store operations.
• Follow company policies, safety procedures and operational standards.

Requirements and Skills

• Senior Certificate (Grade 12).
• Previous retail experience will be advantageous.
• Technical knowledge of DIY tools, hardware or machinery is highly beneficial.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Good sales and merchandising abilities.
• Basic stock control and inventory knowledge.
• Honest, reliable and professional work ethic.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Willingness to learn about tools, machinery and new products.
• Ability to work Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 17:00 and Saturdays from 08:00 to 13:00.
