Mihlali’s Boyfriend Leeroy Sidambe Says She Uses Substances
In a recent press statement, Dumezweni Leeroy Sidambe addressed serious allegations concerning gender-based violence against his partner, Mihlali Ndamase. The statement, released on August 4, 2024, aimed to clarify the events leading up to the accusations and shed light on the nature of their relationship.
Sidambe began by expressing empathy for victims of gender-based violence, stating, “As someone who has experienced the disturbing and hurtful impact of these issues personally, I empathize deeply with victims of gender-based violence.” He acknowledged the seriousness of the accusations and the impact they could have on someone’s character without a thorough understanding of the situation.
According to Sidambe, the incident in question occurred when Mihlali Ndamase allegedly tried to contact him by placing 78 unanswered calls. He explained that he had not responded because he had fallen asleep. Ndamase then arrived at his residence and reportedly insisted that his son let her in so she could see him. Sidambe recounted the events, stating, “Upon arriving as my son recollects, she headed to the kitchen to equip herself with a knife in the attempt of stabbing me as she allegedly was shown evidence of me being unfaithful.”
He described the confrontation that ensued, noting that Ndamase entered his bedroom while he was asleep and attempted to stab him. In an effort to protect himself, Sidambe claimed that he pushed Ndamase away, resulting in her injuries as she made contact with the wall. He further mentioned that his son intervened after hearing him shout and plead for his life.
Sidambe revealed a troubling aspect of their relationship, alleging that Ndamase has a “long history of physically assaulting me and damaging my property especially when she is under the influence of substances I cannot name.” He emphasized that there were multiple witnesses, including his children and bystanders, who could attest to him never laying a hand on her during or after any altercations. He insisted that his actions were always in self-defense.
The statement concluded with Sidambe expressing disappointment that Ndamase had used her platform to spread what he described as “harmful allegations” in an attempt to tarnish his public image. He assured the public that he would fully cooperate with any inquiries, especially from authorities, to clear his name and restore his reputation.

On 04 August 2024 Mihlali Ndamase attempted to contacted me by placing a total of 78 calls of which I were not attended to as I had fallen asleep. Mihlali then arrived at my residence and persistently requested that my son open for her so she could see me. Upon arriving as my son recollects, she headed to the kitchen to equip herself with a knife in the attempt of stabbing me as she allegedly was shown evidence of me being unfaithful. Mihlali Ndamase then came to my bedroom as I was asleep to confront me for being unfaithful and attempted to stab me of which I then protected myself by pushing her away from me resulting in her sustaining her injuries as she made contact with the wall. My son then came to my rescue after hearing me shouting and pleading for Mihlali not to kill me.
With this being said I would like inform you all that Mihlali has a long history of physically assaulting me and damaging my property especially when she is under the influence of substances I cannot name. it is important to note that there is a plethora of witnesses, my children and bystanders whom can attest to me not ever laying a hand on her during / after any altercations but always deflecting and defending myself accordingly. It is unfortunate that Mihlali Ndamase would use her platform to spread these harmful allegations to ploy against my public image in the attempt of being revengeful.
I ensure you all that I will continue to cooperate fully with any inquiries especially from authorities to clear my name and restore my reputation from this.
