The main purpose of the role is to deliver service excellence through efficient customer service, point of sale activities and effective merchandising in store. Shop Assistants and Cashiers will need to maintain high levels of accuracy when scanning merchandise, collecting payments and actioning ClubCard rewards. Key Responsibilities

• Efficiently execute all operational activities at the point of sale in a timely and accurate manner.
• Scan merchandise correctly and process customer purchases efficiently.
• Collect payments for goods purchased and action ClubCard rewards as required.
• Handle cash safely and responsibly at all times.
• Proactively promote the Clicks ClubCard to customers.
• Assist with enrolling new ClubCard members to support participation targets.
• Inform customers about promotions and offers to support sales and help customers feel good and pay less.
• Deliver superior customer service by acting as a professional Clicks brand ambassador.
• Remain visible, friendly and approachable when assisting customers.
• Execute and maintain merchandising activities according to store and visual merchandising standards.
• Complete general housekeeping duties to help keep the store clean, organised and customer ready.

• Maintain current knowledge of products, ranges, promotions and events.

Requirements and Skills

• Grade 12 is an essential minimum educational requirement.
• Maths at 50% at Grade 12 level is desirable.
• English at 50% at Grade 12 level is desirable.
• Previous experience in a customer-facing role within a retail or FMCG store operations environment is desirable.
• Basic maths calculation skills are important for accurate transaction processing and cash handling.
• An understanding of retail or FMCG operations is advantageous.
• Knowledge of merchandising and promotions principles will be beneficial.
• Understanding of stock management procedures is useful in supporting store activities.
• Knowledge of customer service excellence is important.
