Could A New Radio Station Be On The Cards? If so, this would be one of the most iconic radio stations ever in the country. Legendary radio personalities like Robert Marawa, DJ Fresh, DJ Sbu Tbo Touch, Gareth Cliff, Phat Joe and Glen Lewis are among those who at some point in their careers got fired from Metro FM.
The Fired Squad as they call themselves recently posed for a picture, causing some kind of a frenzy on social media. DJ Sbu who was dismissed from Metro FM in 2015, took it upon himself to welcome Marawa to the Fired Squad. The media personality, musician and successful entrepreneur asked tweeps, how many of them would love to see the radio station happen. Sbu also asked tweeps to recommend female radio personalities who can join the squad. Names like Bonang Matheba, Penny Lebyane and Kuli Roberts were mentioned by eager fans who can’t wait for the radio station to materialize.
Should the radio station come to life, listeners will enjoy shows like Fresh 1st Warning hosted by DJ Fresh, Disciplinary Cliff, hosted by Gareth Cliff, Mo-Fired by D Sbu, Touch of Suspension by Tbo Touch, Sports Appeal by Robert Marawa as well as The Dismissal hosted by Phat Joe. As hilarious as this may sound, the idea isn’t so shabby at all.
