Pick n Pay in Moffet, Eastern Cape is seeking a motivated Production Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food preparation, customer service, and maintaining high standards in retail production environments. The Production Assistant will be responsible for manufacturing, preparing, and wrapping products according to specifications while ensuring compliance with hygiene, safety, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Production Assistants at Pick n Pay are expected to manage a variety of tasks, including:

• Manufacture, prepare, and wrap products according to specifications and daily or weekly production budgets
• Correctly price random weight and loose selling items, ensuring labels are accurate
• Conduct regular quality checks and ensure stock rotation, removing damaged or expired products
• Prevent wastage, shrinkage, or product damage
• Maintain cold chain standards by monitoring temperatures
• Ensure hygiene, housekeeping, and safe working practices are maintained at all times
• Operate and clean equipment following company standards
• Serve customers professionally, listening to their requests and providing the required products or services
• Process customer orders accurately according to company procedures
• Promote products and assist in sales initiatives
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, management, customers, and suppliers
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including possible transfer between stores

The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills in English, and a customer-minded attitude. They should be able to work well in a team and remain calm under pressure. Key traits include:

Qualifications and Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
• Must reside close to the store in Moffet, Eastern Cape
• Ability to communicate effectively in English
• Calm, patient, and customer-focused approach
• Team player with a thorough and conscientious work ethic
