Assistant: Operations Opportunity at Woolworths Gauteng
Woolworths is looking for a dedicated Assistant: Operations to join its team in Gauteng. This permanent position offers an opportunity to work within the wholesale and retail trade sector, supporting efficient store operations and maintaining high service standards. The role focuses on ensuring a safe, clean, and organized environment for both customers and staff.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will provide operational support across departments by maintaining hygiene and safety standards, handling stock, and ensuring optimal use of resources. The position plays a key role in keeping the store ready for trade while meeting company benchmarks for performance and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Remove unused equipment from the sales floor to ensure the store is trade-ready
- Receive and dispatch stock according to company policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic store environment at all times
- Conduct regular checks in high-risk areas such as fitting rooms and lockers
- Work closely with external contractors to ensure service standards are met, including refrigeration and maintenance teams
- Support operational functions to ensure smooth daily store activities
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent NQF qualification
- Previous experience in the Retail or FMCG industry is an advantage
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHASA) policies and procedures
