Isandlwana Lodge, located within the KwaZulu-Natal Battlefields and fascinating cultural areas of Isandlwana and Rorke’s Drift, well-known for the battles that took place there between British colonial forces and the Zulu nation, has announced an exciting programme for families who would like their children to have an educational, yet fun experience while the parents are participating in battlefield tours or other activities offered by the lodge.

The children’s programme is run by Africa!Ignite, a rural development agency that works in community development where the Battlefields Route is situated. The WOWZULU Marketplace situated at the Isandlwana Museum is one of Africa!Ignite’s enterprise development programmes and the friendly and competent WOWZULU staff will be your children’s hosts.

The programme includes walks to the WOWZULU Marketplace from the lodge through the village and hearing some of the stories about the village. Activities like drawing and colouring as well as arts and crafts are also included in the child orientated programme on offer. Costs are based on the number of children in any one programme and may vary slightly, depending on the length of time required and any special requests from parents, but a four hour session would costs from around R100 based on four children participating  to  R300 for a one-on-one and include refreshments.
