Work Integrated Non-Technical Learner Opportunity in Saldanha

Transnet is offering a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Non-Technical Learner programme in Saldanha, South Africa. This programme provides students and recent graduates with practical workplace experience, allowing them to apply academic knowledge in a real-world environment. Position Purpose
The WIL Trainee Programme runs for 18 months and is designed to enhance employability by providing hands-on training, mentorship, and exposure to industry-specific tasks. Trainees will gain valuable experience in administrative, operational, and project-related functions while developing professional skills.

Position Outputs

Task Execution

  • Assist in departmental projects and work-streams
  • Perform routine operational tasks under supervision
  • Support administrative functions, including documentation and reporting

Learning & Development

  • Participate in training sessions, workshops, and mentorship programs
  • Shadow experienced professionals to gain practical insights
  • Engage in problem-solving activities to develop analytical skills

Communication & Collaboration

  • Interact with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to understand business needs
  • Provide regular updates on assigned tasks and projects
  • Serve as a central contact point for queries and assistance

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow company policies, procedures, and safety regulations
  • Maintain ethical and professional standards
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity in all tasks

Research & Analysis

  • Conduct market research, data collection, and analysis to support business decisions
  • Prepare reports and presentations using MS Office tools
  • Assist in process improvement initiatives

Qualifications and Experience

  • Matric certificate or equivalent, and N6 in Human Resources Management
  • South African citizen, aged 18 to 35
  • Preference given to People with Disabilities
  • No bursary obligation with another company
  • Proof of certified Matric certificate, academic record, ID copy, and TVET college experiential learning letter
