GoFundMe Set Up for Actor and Comedian Sabelo Gumede As He Battles Cancer. Earlier this year, Sabelo Gumede, was diagnosed with stage 3 choriocarcinoma, which is a rare but chemo-responsive cancer. The cancer spread through the lymph nodes to his neck, tummy, lungs, spine and diaphragm.
According to the talented actor, and comedian, it took over 3 months before he got the diagnosis. This sadly cost him over R100,000 because of constant medical tests. The good news is that so far Sabelo’s medical aid has been covering treatment. He however has only a few months before exhausting the funds, which is concerning. Currently Sabelo doesn’t have any gig lined up, and he is only relying on savings.
“Hello my beautiful friends!! Yo, I’d like to just thank everyone’s who’s been so nice and supportive of my journey since the first day I went public about having cancer. You guys are really epic and are genuinely helping me through this journey in ways you don’t know,” Sabelo said in appreciation.
Sabelo is also grateful for the messages of encouragement he has been getting from well wishers. Now with the GoFundMe, set up he is optimistic that more help is coming his way. Sabelo also promised his online family that he will keep them posted about his journey.
“My oncologist been telling me this disease is firstly defeated mentally and then the meds do the other half of the work and all the texts and DM’s I get everyday really motivate me and help me feel better about the entire thing so thank you guys gaaaang once again. Secondly, thanks to the people who’ve jumped the gun and donated like immediately and for those who will donate in future again. Thank you so much guys. Even if it’s R1, even if it’s R1 drillion. All your efforts and donations are highly appreciated. Man I’m just grateful my dawgz. Y’all are epic, please don’t stop being yourself towards me as well as others going through kak like I am.
