Shudufhadzo Musida Raises Powerful Points As A Panelist At the World Menstrual Health Day Event. One thing about Shudufhadzo Musida, she is invested in advocacy. Sine winning Miss South Africa 2020, she has been using her publicity to speak at the biggest events around the world.

In February 2025, UNFPA announced as their Global Champion for Women and Girls. Her first role was to help observe the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation. She previously served as UNFPA’s first-ever Regional Champion for East and Southern Africa. In this department Shudu advocated for women and girls’ sexual and reproductive health.

Sill representing the organizing, she recently made part of the panel at the World Menstrual Health Day Event. The beauty queen and author spoke passionately about giving young girls dignity, regarding menstruation. Shudu also stated that proper education for both genders can go a long way in fighting stigma, breaking the silence and ending shame.

Every month, over 2 billion people menstruate, yet more than 500 million lack access to menstrual products, proper sanitation, or education. And still—there’s silence. Shame. Stigma.

On World Menstrual Health Day, I joined an incredible panel at the North American premiere of IMPURE, a deeply moving film about June, a 12-year-old Kenyan girl who navigates her first period without support and in complete isolation.

Her story is a reality for millions of girls.

We must break the silence.
We must end the shame.
We must ensure free access to menstrual products in schools and public spaces because managing your period should never be a barrier to dignity, education, or opportunity.

Education is the starting point. Menstrual health is a human right,
” Shudu said.
