Working Hard vs Working Smart- Know The Difference!

Many people have the tendency of mixing and often confusing working hard with working smart. In most cases, you find a number of people furiously debating about the matter. The other will be sharing their view saying that the both terms are closely related, and the other will be saying they are completely different. But then, which is which?  Trying to figure this out can cause you a huge headache.

First we need to take a look at the definitions of Working Hard and Working Smart.

Working Hard– Familiar with the phrase, ‘In order to succeed, you need to work harder’. Fair enough, I mean we know that nothing comes easy in this life and growing up we were taught that to achieve the best things in life, one needs to sweat. Just think about the time you were in high school ( If applies) , to obtain the best results you needed to put extra effort into your studies. Your teacher will say, ” You need to study hard this semester”.

True, this was all you needed to do to get the best marks. This applies also in college ( Universities etc) and at work. Your lectures expert you to excel in your course and your boss expects you to be highly productive.

You and I can perhaps agree that working harder in what you do is very important. Or Maybe not?

Alright, lets not turn things around and decipher a lot more.

 

Working Smart – Sounds interesting and smart right? Let’s just get into detail then. How to work smart and not hard. How does this even work?

Well, times are changing and it’s time to get in line with how things work today. The notion is that, if you master the concept, your entire working life will be easier. There are simple techniques that you can employ to save steps and tedium from almost any task. Before you stress yourself about this remember that it is through wisdom, that we become better people. There more we do something, we end up learning new ways to do them quicker and faster. Sometimes , other people are just fast thinkers.  We are talking about those people who come up with solutions quicker. One thing we can look at now is Technology, it is creating fast and better ways for people to do their work in a smart way.

So, now that we are a bit enlightened about the meanings between the two. I am sure you know when and where the latter applies. It can be confusing when we try to separate the two but to be honest , working hard and working smart are closely related but different. Sometimes you may need to work hard and sometimes you  need to work smart. Working smart can help you save time and achieve things in the right time. Working hard is good for us too. So the world needs people who hardworking and smart people.
