Load-shedding Officially Suspended. A few days ago, Eskom announced the return of load-shedding. This was due to several breakdowns which require extended repair times, we are back to square one. Eskom added that this was only a temporary setback.
Immediately after the announcement, Stage 3 load-shedding began. Residents had to deal with power cuts, after months of enjoying electricity without interruptions. The good news is that the issue has been resolved, and Load-shedding is now suspended.
Electricity minister, Dr Kgosientsho Ramokgopha announced on social media that load-shedding has been suspended as of Sunday 02 February 2025. He hails the teams at Eskom for their relentless efforts.
“Fellow South Africans, I am pleased to announce that load-shedding, which began on Friday, 31 January 2025, has been officially suspended from this morning 06:00, 02 February 2025! This has been achieved through the relentless efforts of our dedicated teams at Eskom,” the minister said.
Ramakgopa also sincerely apologized to the residents for the disruptions and challenges that load-shedding has imposed on their daily lives. The Minister also assured the residents that they remain committed to ensuring that load-shedding is permanently behind. This will be achieved through their continued and tireless efforts to deliver reliable, affordable, and accessible electricity for all.
