Tributes Pour In for Founder of Rhema Bible Church Pastor Ray McCauley. Tuesday evening Basetsana Kumalo shared a statement from Pastor Ray McCauley’s passing. In the statement his family says he died on the day at 18h46 surrounded by his loved ones. At the time of his passing McCauley was 75.

Notice for immediate Release* *Johannesburg – [08 October 2024]* It is with deep sorrow and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Pastor Ray McCauley, founder of Rhema Bible Church, an evangelical leader. Pastor Ray has gone to be with the Lord peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family and loved ones at 18h46. At 75, Pastor Ray had stepped back from active church duties but remained fully committed to serving the body of Christ. His enduring legacy as a servant leader will continue to impact communities far beyond his lifetime. Further details will be communicated in due course. The family appreciate your prayers and support during this difficult time. Issued on behalf of the McCauley family by senior Pastor Joshua McCauley,” the full statement reads.

Since the announcement tributes have been pouring in for the Rhema Bible Church founder. President Cyril Ramaphosa also paid the late pastor tribute, saying: “Pastor Ray’s passing leaves our deeply spiritual nation bereft of a remarkable leader whose impressive legacy lives on in the faith of hundreds of thousands of believers within and beyond the Rhema community.

Other political figures such as Mmusi Maimane, Professor Thuli Madonsela, Panyaza Lesufi and Herman Mashaba also came through with heartfelt tributes. Celebrities alike and the general public, have taken to social media to remember Pastor McCauley.
