“You Are Putting Me and My Family In Danger,” the Man Mistaken for Convicted Killer Sandile Mantsoe Speaks Up
“You Are Putting Me and My Family In Danger,” the Man Mistaken for Convicted Killer Sandile Mantsoe Speaks Up. It is cool to have a lookalike out there. The fun though stops when your doppelganger is known for unsavory activities. You might find yourself receiving hate because you are confused for them.
This is the case that Zane Sekhwela finds himself in. All along he has been living his life quietly pushing his business as a co-founder of a gin brand, Lemeilleur. Zane is also an accountant by qualification, a certified runner, foodie as well as a traveler. Recently though he found himself trending on both social and mainstream media after being mistaken for a convicted murderer, who is serving time.
Zane is confused with Sandile Mantsoe, the man who murdered his girlfriend Karabo Mantsoe in cold blood. In May 2028, Sandile got sentenced to 30 years for the murder, five years for assault and four years for defeating the ends of justice. Two of the five years for assault, as well as three of the four years for obstruction of justice, will run concurrently. This equaled to a sentence of 32 year.
Now many believe Sandile pulled a Thabo Bester, not knowing that the man that they saw was Zane. He even trended on social media, with the general public asking law enforcers to act swiftly. The Department of Correctional Services has confirmed Sandile is still in prison serving his sentence.
Because of the danger that Zane is now subjected to due to the comparison, he has pleaded with the public to put an end to it.
“You guys are putting me and my family in danger, I am Zane Sekhwela NOT Sandile,” a concerned Zane said.
