Tweeps React to Terry Pheto Being Allegedly Involved In Another Money Scandal. Lately it hasn’t been raining, but pouring for Terry Pheto. She continues to make headlines, for some financial frauds that apparently took place years back.
All along the multi-award winning actress had a good girl image. Terry was regarded a role model by so any people. This is because she is a great actress, bagged so any awards locally and internationally and has such a calm personality with no drama. Sadly her image was tainted when she was pointed out among other eight individuals accused of fraud relating to funding by the National Lotteries Commission towards the end of 2022.
Beginning of this month, Special Investigating Unit shared on Twitter that Terry’s house was up for auctioning. According to SIU, the auction followed a preservation order granted by the High Court of South Africa, Gauteng Division, Pretoria, to the Asset Forfeiture Unit (AFU) and the SIU, on 4 November 2022 to freeze her Bryanston home. The mansion is yet to find a buyer though.
Another scandal involving Terry, has just been dug out. Her company is among those that allegedly received funds for a youth event, that never took place. The NLC awarded a grant of more than R10-million to a non-profit entity to stage a South African Youth Awards ceremony. The grant allocated to the non-profit company, Life for Impact in the 21st Century, was shared among people and companies with no links whatsoever to the awards, according to a Special Investigating Unit presentation to Parliament last year.
Sunguti Projects, of which Terry is the sole director, got R1 Million from South Africa’s National Lotteries Commission for the ‘awards ceremony.’
Here is what some social media users had to say upon hearing the news.
