It’s Another Major Award for Thuso Mbedu
It’s Another Major Award for Thuso Mbedu. Very soon we will lose track of how many international awards Thuso Mbedu has bagged. This is because she walks away with gongs at almost every award she is nominated in.
Thuso ended the year 2022, named among The New York Times Top 10 Best Actors of the year. The amazing recognition was for her outstanding performance in The Woman King. On the hit film Thuso plays Nawi, an ambitious recruit. Nawi is part of an all-female military unit led by General Nanisca, played by the multi-talented Viola Davis.
Through this role, she is reaching greater heights by the day. Last night at the 23rd Annual Black Reel Awards Thuso bagged herself yet another accolade. The multi-award winning actress and model bagged herself the Outstanding Breakthrough Actress award, for her role as Nawi on The Woman King.
The Woman King, which stars the best of the best such as Viola Davis also did amazing on the night. The hit film went on to bag the Outstanding Film award. Outstanding Director went to Gina Prince-Bythewood of the same film. The Woman King also bagged the Outstanding Ensemble award as well as Outstanding Score and Outstanding Editing awards.
Congratulations are in order for Thuso as well as the rest of the cast and crew members of The Woman King.
