A day ago, the multi award winning actress together with Viola Davis, shared the official trailer of The Woman King movie. The story is inspired by true events and follows Nanisca, who is an all-female military unit General played by Viola and Nawi, an ambitious recruit, who is played by Thuso. The two and their crew fight enemies who have enslaved their people and violated their honor. The unit is the inspiration behind the Dora Milaje in “Black Panther”.

Thuso is not the only South African personality cast on The Woman King. Earlier this year, it was announced that Thuso’s best friend, Makgosto M, was also on the film cast as one of King Ghezo’s wives. Miss Universe 2019, Zozibini Tunzi and award winning actor Siv Ngesi are also in the movie.
