“We Have Let You Down,” Khanyi Mbau Addresses Concerns of Fans Not Feeling Season II of The Wife. As they say, feedback is the breakfast of champions. Great feedback can inspire one to learn from their mistakes and improve how they have been doing things. This though, only happens if you receive the feedback, no matter how negative, as constructive.
This is exactly how Khanyi Mbau is handling things at the moment. The Wife Season II, a Showmax telenovela that she stars in, has been receiving backlash from viewers over the past couple of episodes. Many people, more so those who have read the book series, have taken to social media to air their disappointments over the plot the show has taken. They feel that, The Wife isn’t really a reflection of the book version which was penned by Dudu Busani-Dube.
After checking out the complaints on Twitter, Khanyi decided to address the fans. The talented actress and media personality started off by admitting that viewers have been let down. Khanyi pointed out that instead of a romantic love story between her character, Zandile and Nkosana, viewers now have to watch a crime drama with lots of prison scenes, missing people, as well as hate and mystery. This has not only disappointed, but Khanyi too.
Just like many people, Khanyi had hoped for an African version of 50 Shades of Grey, so she completely understands how viewers feel out there. She went on to thank viewers for still being loyal to the show, despite it not being what they anticipated.
“We have let you down , WE HAVE NOT GIVEN YOU WHAT U HAD ANTICIPATED! a love story between Zandile and Nkosana. That’s what we all hoped to experience,” Khanyi said.
