This is exactly what happened to Winnie Ntshaba, who lost her dear father a day before the Royalty Soapie Awards.

Winnie is the creator and CEO of the prestigious awards, which started six years ago. This past Saturday marked the 5th Royalty Soapie Awards ceremony, and it was such a huge success. Even today, the media, public as well as those who attended can’t stop talking about the event. You could not tell that the lady who made this all possible was grieving her father. But sadly as they say in showbiz, the show must go on.

Winnie took to social media hours before the event to announce that she just lost her father a day ago. Although the death of a parent is such a painful thing to deal with, the talented actress and entrepreneur comforted herself with the fact that she saw her father just before her birthday, and he gave her his blessings. Winnie’s father was the only remaining parent, after the family lost their beloved mother in November 2017.

“God, your ways are higher than my ways… this day in 2015 at the 2nd Royalty Soapie Awards with my parents…. Yesterday, the day before the 5th Royalty Soapie Awards ceremony taking place this evening, my dad passed away to go be with the Lord. It’s comforting to know I saw him just before my birthday and he gave me his blessings. As sad as I am today, I am at peace though knowing that mom you have reunited with dad. I will celebrate you baba wami. Rest in Peace Ntshaba, Mgabe kaTokwane, wena kaYaya. Thole you fought a good fight, May heavens receive joyously. RIP baba wami??,” Winnie said.
