Pearl Thusi On Why She Promoted ANC Back Then. Well, at the end of the day, a girl’s gotta pay them bills! A lot of our celebrities publicly promote or endorse certain political parties. Sometimes though, it is not done due to perseverance, but for one to put food on the table, to get certain favors as well as be in good books with the powers that be.

In the past national elections, celebrities like AKA, Penny Lebyane, Rami Chuene, Tony Kgoroge Kuli Roberts and Florence Masebe, were not shy to show that they voted for the ruling party, ANC. On the other hand other personalities like Mmabatho Montsho, Ntando Duma, Themba Ndaba, Babalwa Mneno, Tumi Sole and Dr Tlaleng are proud EFF members.

But as we all know that politics are dirty, we have see a umber of people move from one party to the other for various reasons. There was a time when Ntando was a staunch ANC member, but now she has switched to the ANC. Pearl Thusi who once actively promoted ANC is now singing a different tune.

The media personality and actress took to Twitter to challenge the South African Government over the escalating corruption that is happening in the country. As expected Pearl’s tweet had mixed of reactions from tweeps at large. Other people mentioned the corruption deeds doe by the ruling party, whereas some said that celebs like Pearl benefit from this corruption.

One of her followers shared a picture of Pearl rocking an ANC T-shirt ad stated that she was used to lure voters. Of which Pearl responded that back the she needed rent money and actively promoted any party including Democratic Alliance (DA).

“Notice what I did with my arms. That wasn’t an accident. That wasn’t an accident. I really needed that rent money. Hence I said actively promoting any party. But if I knew then what I know now… regrettably, I also did a DA gig that year,” Pearl said.
