MacG and Thuso Mbedu’s Conversation Sparks An Uproar On Twitter

MacG and Thuso Mbedu’s Conversation Sparks An Uproar On Twitter. Being a celebrity can be a two double edged sword. One minute you are celebrated for your achievements and the next moment you are dragged over what you said on social media. The latter is the kind of mess that Thuso Mbedu finds herself in at the moment.

A few days ago, Thuso revealed that she has been cast alongside Hollywood giant, Viola Davis. The two talented women will star in The Woman King which is directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood. The story follows Nanisca, General of the all-female military unit, and Nawi, an ambitious recruit, who together fought enemies who threatened to destroy everything they’ve lived for. Thuso received congratulatory messages all over the country and beyond over this major acting gig.

We are also counting down to the forthcoming Amazon Prime Video series, The Underground Railroad, in which our golden girl stars in. In the series, Thuso plays the character of Cora Randall, a young woman who escapes the Georgia plantation where she has spent her entire life in bondage. Talk about putting us on the world map.

Thuso, who is at the prime of her career, is unfortunately now at the centre of negativity over the recent tweets she shared with MacG. Their conversation started when MacG gave a shout out to the SAFTA award winning actress in his latest episode. Mbedu then posted a tweet thanking him for showing her some love, and congratulated him for the amazing job he is doing.

Social media user Melusi Dhlamini was not impressed by all this ad called Thuso out for interacting with MacG. He pointed out that MacG is a homophobe but Thuso still chose to have a conversation with the infamous podcaster. Melusi said Thuso is now a Hollywood star ad will be held to the same standards.

Immediately Thuso and MacG trended on Twitter with different views from social media users. Thuso responded by apologizing for the tweet and then sharing that she deleted it. For future reference, she urged that anyone who finds an error in what someone tweeted needs to educate instead of sharing side comments.
