Technician Level 2 Workshop Opportunity at CIRO Germiston

CIRO Full Service Beverage Company, South Africa’s largest manufacturer of pure coffee, is seeking a skilled and motivated Technician Level 2 Workshop to join its team in Meadowdale, Germiston, Gauteng. As a Technician Level 2 Workshop, you will be responsible for supporting workshop operations through equipment servicing, repairs, inspections, housekeeping and administrative duties. You will work closely with the Workshop Supervisor to ensure coffee dispensing equipment is maintained to the highest standards while following company procedures and safety requirements. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent time management and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning duties in and around the workshop.
• Keep the workshop floor, wash bay, power tool area and spare parts area clean and organised.
• Conduct tool checks and maintain tidy tool cupboards.
• Clean coffee dispensing equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Assist with offloading containers and maintaining workshop cleanliness.
• Keep the training room clean and organised.
• Strip, descale and clean taps, boilers and other equipment components.
• Reassemble spare parts and selected equipment.
• Perform pre-delivery inspections on equipment.
• Repair faulty equipment as required.
• Work overtime when operational requirements demand.
• Complete consumption sheets with accurate part descriptions and codes.
• Submit repeat call reports, timesheets, tool check records, overtime forms and leave applications.
• Complete and obtain the required signatures for Performance Deliverables (PDIs).
• Maintain a clean, safe and hazard-free work area.
• Wear the required protective clothing and use approved tools correctly.
• Follow workplace health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Manage workshop tools and spare parts responsibly.
• Promote CIRO’s values and maintain high standards of workmanship.
• Select replacement spare parts carefully to minimise costs.
• Perform additional duties assigned by the Workshop Supervisor or Technical Manager.

Requirements and Skills

• Grade 12 / Matric is essential.
• Certification in relevant coffee equipment is required.
• Advanced Coffee Course Certificate is preferred.
• Customer relations short course will be advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of coffee and coffee extraction equipment.
• Technical servicing and repair experience.
• Intermediate electrical knowledge (220V/380V systems).
• Basic electronic knowledge.
• Intermediate to advanced ability to use a multimeter.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.
• Reliable, responsible and cost-conscious approach to repairs.
