SA First Lady, Dr Tshepo Motsepe Encourages The Youth To Consider Other Professions That Are Not Office Based. Although, many young people hold graduation certificates, it is a pity that they are still unemployed. Some unfortunately have pursued courses which are already congested, or not relevant on the current job market.

For young people to be able to choose wisely, they need guidance from those with vast knowledge and experience. On Wednesday, The Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation, in partnership with Cyril Ramaphosa Education Trust, hosted a webinar that touched on several youth issues including this one of education and employment.

The webinar entitled, Committing to our youth. Committing to our future had a couple of The Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation stakeholders engage in a discussion about the long-term value to society of investing in youth development. Among the many issues discussed was reviving township economy, adopting disadvantaged schools, having after school programs, encouraging young people to read and so forth and so on.

One of the guest speakers, First Lady, Dr Tshepo Motsepe touched on a few issues on how the livelihood of young South Africans can be improved. As a person who attends graduation ceremonies, Dr Motsepe is concerned that many young people go for office based professions, making the market more saturated. She mentioned courses that many overlook like plumbing, which in the long run, can be quite beneficial when one wants to make a living.
