Tshepo Mohlala of Tshepo Jeans Highlights the Dangers of Opening Many Stores In A Short Space of Time. Quite a number of ties, we have witnessed black entrepreneurs in retail business, open many stores in such a short period of time. On the positive, this creates employment, makes the brand more accessible and increases its visibility.

Having noted that though, sometimes that can work against the business. Tshepo Mohlala of Tshepo Jeans has just highlighted the dangers of doing so. With a vision to create a brand that will outlive him, and relate to everyone, Tshepo founded his luxury denim and lifestyle brand in 2015. The affluent businessman, recently had a sit down with Nine80 Network podcast, and gave insight on successfully running a business. Among other things, Tshepo touched on branding, biggest purchase, success, being homeless and longevity in the business.

Although he has couple of stores running, Tshepo is not into opening many stores at the moment. He is looking into opening two or three stores, then take it from there to build the people as well as the community. Tshepo wants to build a long lasting brand, as opposed to having one that is built from hype. From observation, he has seen a lot of brands getting destroyed fro being hyped up. Yes, they make money in a short period of time, but after sometime, they are no longer relevant.

“I wanna build something that gonna be relevant and stay for the next 100 years… I understand what I am trying to build, I know, why I a building it, I know I am not building it to sell it tomorrow, I am building to build value for the next 100 years, Tshepo said.
