Among many other things Bongani Luvalo is an award winning author, an entrepreneur, a reality show star, a philanthropist and a Facilitator/moderator for seminars and workshops. It is quite impressive how very well he excels at every single title he holds.
Bongani has just added actor to his impressive resume. A couple of days back, he made his debut in SABC1 hit soapie, Generations: The Legacy. He plays Pastor Lawrence, a man described as a charismatic priest who holds power and influence. However, just like any other human being, Pastor Lawrence also has his flaws.
Bongani has always been in the creative industry, but has never done acting. The Generations: The Legacy gig came through his manager. Bongani got a call from his manager, who told him he was in talks with the soapie’s production team. As the saying goes, the rest is history.
37 year old Bongani became a household name in 2025 when he appeared on Married at First Sight: Mzansi Season II. In the reality show, he was paired with Portia Baloyi, and they got married instantly. They had their ups and downs throughout the show, with Portia not happy about Bongani’s looks. They however found some common ground, and remained married throughout the show. It is not clear though, where they stand at the moment.
