Hungani Ndlovu Expresses Gratitude to the Skeem Saam Team After Hitting A Record Breaking 4.5 Million Viewers. Skeem Saam continues to reaffirm its position as one of South Africa’s most-loved television dramas. A week ago, the hit SABC1 drama reached a major milestone, pulling in a record-breaking 4.5 million viewers.
Recent episodes have kept audiences glued to their screens, with gripping developments unfolding, from intensifying rivalries and personal reckonings to moments of hope, love, and redemption. One storyline that stood out is when the Maputla boys were stranded in a desert after an airplane accident. Their families prayed day and night for a miracle, while viewers were glued to their TV screens.
Hungani Ndlovu, who plays Thabo Maputla has nothing but gratitude for the whole team. The talented actor appreciates everyone, even those who work behind the scenes. He also is thankful to the 4.5 million people who tuned in this past week
“I’m blessed and highly favoured. What a joy it is to work with people who genuinely love what they do and still give their best, even when the days are long and the circumstances are tough.👏🏾
My hat goes off to the unseen heroes:
the drivers up before sunrise and home long after wrap,
the catering team keeping us fed and hydrated,
cleaners, makeup, wardrobe, sound, camera, script, production…every department that builds the world before we ever step into frame.✨
To my co-stars…thank you for the generosity, the play, the trust. What a privilege to tell stories with you, not just alongside you.
Over 4.5 million people this past week. I for one, don’t take that lightly. Thank you to the audience for welcoming these stories into your homes.
What a privilege it is to be an actor in South Africa.
And what a wonderful privilege it will be to be an actor in a regulated industry in South Africa,” he said in gratitude.
