Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited is hiring a Receiving Clerk for its Mompati store in Vryburg, North West. This permanent role focuses on the accurate receiving, verification and processing of stock in line with company procedures. The position is ideal for detail oriented individuals who are comfortable working in a retail supply chain environment. You will play a key role in ensuring that all incoming stock is correctly checked, recorded and distributed within the store to support smooth daily operations.

Job Overview

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing all stock deliveries and ensuring accuracy between invoices and physical goods received. You will verify, scan and capture stock details, check for damaged or incorrect items and follow strict receiving procedures. The role requires strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy and the ability to work efficiently under pressure. You will also support the Receiving Manager with claims, returns and stock control processes. This role is essential in maintaining stock integrity and ensuring the store operates with accurate inventory records.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify, scan and capture all goods received accurately
• Receive warehouse deliveries and process invoices according to company procedures
• Check deliveries for accuracy, condition and correct quantities
• Return damaged or incorrect goods and complete credit notes
• Assist with logging warehouse claims and supplier returns
• Ensure stock is receipted and processed on the same day
• Maintain proper control of high risk stock areas
• Support the receiving manager with stock administration tasks
• Ensure receiving area and storerooms remain clean and organised
• Follow all stock handling and receiving SOPs strictly
• Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing stock
• Communicate effectively with suppliers, staff and management

Requirements And Skills

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Computer literate with strong numerical ability
• Good understanding of stock control and receiving processes
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work retail hours including weekends
• Physically fit and able to lift loads above 20kg
• Good communication skills in English
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Ability to follow procedures and work systematically
• Previous experience in receiving, retail or FMCG environment is an advantage
• Reliable transport or ability to work close to the store
• Clean credit and criminal record required
