Thuli Phongolo Announces Her Major Gig At the Upcoming 2025 TikTok Sub-Saharan Africa Awards. She came into the industry as an actress, and now Thuli Phongolo has broadened her horizons to explore other talents. Thuli has taken up a career as a DJ, and has released music projects.
Many got to know Thuli when she played Namhla Diale in Generations: The Legacy. She however, stepped into the industry as a 15 year-old, and began her acting career playing Zama on the series Tshisa. The talented actress and musician has also played lead on another hit series Makoti. Other major shows Thuli has been in include Mzansi Magic’s The Republic and Rockville. She was also part of the star-studded cast on The Wife series, which aired on Showmax.
In 2017, Thuli showed another side of her by becoming a DJ. The decision changed her life, as it has sustained her creatively and professionally. It also reaffirmed her belief that reinvention is a strength, not a risk especially through all the public trials and tribulations. A year ago, she ventured in the music industry, collaborating with DJ Maphorisa in an Amapiano single. Thuli also announced that she was working on her EP, titles AVANA. A new single from the project HAI SUKA, is currently making waves all over.
Now Thuli gets to eat as a musician, and we love this for her. She has just announced that she is the official DJ for the TikTok Sub-Saharan Africa awards. Thuli promises to give nothing but her best.
