Qhawekazi Mazaleni Celebrates The Impactful Month She Has Had As Miss South Africa. A month has passed since Qhawekazi Mazaleni was crowned Miss South Africa 2025. In such a short period of time, Qhawe has shown that dynamites come in small packages, with the amazing works she has done thus far.
Before her Miss SA journey, Qhawe has always been big on education. She holds a degree in speech, language, and hearing therapy from Stellenbosch University. Currently Qhawe is pursuing her Master’s in speech language pathology at the University of Pretoria with a focus on autism. She thus chose education as the foundation of her campaign. The beauty queen is also a published author, and has published a children’s book in isiXhosa to promote early language development. Qhawe also aims to expand educational resources in indigenous languages.
Since her win, Qhawe has been attending and speaking at events that align with her purpose. A week ago, she joined the Woman Shutdown March organized by Women for Change South Africa. The organization staged a purple protest over gender violence, on Friday 21st November 2025. Earlier this month Qhawe joined visionary women at the International Women’s Forum South Africa Cornerstone Conference to discuss: The Power of Hope ~ The Pathway to Excellence in Leadership. Looking back at how her first month as queen has been, Qhawe has nothing but gratitude.
“I have nothing but gratitude for this first month 🤍
Every single step has been taken with intention. I cannot wait to share what the next year will look like. Staying rooted in inclusive education and unlocking opportunities for our youth. I cannot wait to show you the power of working alongside Empower Youth Africa
To laying the foundations for future impact and starting where you are,” Qhawe said.
