Bajabulise Thela Crowned Miss Universe South Africa 2026. Bajabulise Thela is one of the beauty queens representing South Africa at major international pageants this year. She takes on the honour of representing the country on the Miss Universe stage later this year.
The former Miss Mpumalanga title holder was one of the finalists competing to representing South Africa at Miss World and Miss Universe through Miss African Beauty South Africa. Bajabulise’s journey, purpose and determination earned her the crown, taking over from Melissa Nayimuli, who had a beautiful reign. She will now carry the South African flag to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where the 75th Miss Universe pageant is set to take place in November 2026.
At the event, another beauty queen, Romanda Hombir was crowned Miss World South Africa 2026. This comes a month after Shannon Benting was named Miss Supranational South Africa 2026 by African Beauty International. The Gauteng-born model and content creator, is currently represent the country at the prestigious international pageant in Nowy Sącz, Poland.
