About the Rand Water Graduate Development Programme

The Rand Water GDP bridges the gap between academic knowledge and professional practice. Graduates are given hands-on experience, training, and mentorship that align with their qualifications.

This programme is part of Rand Water’s commitment to:

Graduate Development Programme Posts and Requirements

Post 1: Graduate Development Programme – SHEQ (x2)

Minimum Requirements:

  • B.Tech in Health & Safety Management
  • SAMTRAC/Equivalent
  • Root Cause Analysis Technique (RCAT)
  • Valid Driver’s licence

Post 2: Graduate Development Programme – Process Technology (x3)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Masters or PhD in Chemistry, Water Engineering, Material Science, Product Formulation or Chemical Engineering
  • Studied at a recognised South African institution
  • Must not have participated in any graduate programme before
  • Must be below the age of 35
  • South African Citizen with valid ID
  • No work experience related to qualification
  • No criminal record

Post 3: Graduate Development Programme – Quality (x1)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Four years qualification (NQF 8) in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
  • Experience in research projects and techniques

Minimum Requirements:

  • Four years qualification (NQF 8) in Chemistry or Analytical Chemistry
  • Experience in research projects and techniques

Post 5: Graduate Development Programme – Biology (x2)

Minimum Requirements:

  • Four years qualification (NQF 8) in Environmental Health, Aquatic Health, or Microbiology
  • Majors: Biochemistry, Microbiology, Zoology, and/or Molecular Biology
  • Experience in research projects and techniques applicable to Microbiology, Toxicology, Aquatic Health, or Molecular Biology
