Applications Open for the Legal Practice Council Switchboard Operator Post. The Legal Practice Council (LPC) invites qualified and experienced candidates to apply for vacant positions at the Gauteng Provincial Office.
Minimum Appointment Requirements
- Matric (Grade 12) and 01-year receptionist or call centre experience;
- Knowledge of MS Office (Basic Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Switchboard operation.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate switchboard, receiving and relaying calls to the appropriate recipient;
- Take messages, where necessary, and distribute timely to the correct recipient;
- Place occasional local and long-distance calls;
- Handle general enquiries and direct through to the correct recipients, when required;
- Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail;
- Receive and sign for parcels or deliveries, distributing to appropriate staff members;
- Photocopy, scan, fax, email and print, as and when required;
- Perform miscellaneous clerical and copy typing duties, as assigned;
- Administer bookings for meeting rooms and ensure that meetings are booked timeously and accurately and Assist in filing and retrieving of documentation.
The Legal Practice Council shall apply the Employment Equity targets prescribed under the
Employment Equity Act, 55 of 1998, and those in force at the time of appointment, when
considering candidates for this position.
