A Proud Moment for Nomzamo Mbatha After Helping Rebuild A School In Her Hometown

A Proud Moment for Nomzamo Mbatha After Helping Rebuild A School In Her Hometown. It has been two years of hard work, and now the beautiful results are here. Together with the Cotton On Foundation, Nomzamo Mbatha helped to rebuild and upgrade Dr JL Dube High School. This marked the first major refurbishment of the school since it was built in 1979.

The upgraded school now has 42 new world-class classrooms, which includes new computers and internet access. For student support, counselling rooms and a Pathways Hub are available, with well-being and leadership programs offered. There’s also a new multi-purpose field and indoor sports hall, and a performing arts hall. These new facilities will help keep students engaged and active in school while exploring all of their interests and getting creative in a supportive space.

Nomzamo, who grew up in KwaMashu, is thrilled to be giving back to her community. The talented actress, TV personality and Goodwill ambassador has revealed in past interviews that she did not have a privileged upbringing. She had only one dream when she left KwaZulu-Natal, to further her studies. This was going to enable her to fix her grandmother’s house and take care of her family as they were struggling. Now Nomzamo is doing more than that, touching the hearts of many across the world with her activism work.

It has been THREE LONG YEARS and I am Thankful for this very day. I always say, I would like to live long enough to see the summit of my life. Little did I know that there are too many summits to witness, and this very one, is only the beginning 💛 … the last pic is me saying, “I’ll see you on the next one” Nomzamo said.
