Lekau Sehoana’s Kiddies Republic Store Shuts Down. Business ventures often face a multitude of challenges, and unfortunately, not all stories have a fairy-tale ending. In the case of Lekau Sehoana’s Kiddies Republic Clothing Store, the journey took an unexpected turn with the announcement of its liquidation.

In February 2022, the inspirational businessman announced that he was launching a kiddies clothing store. The Drip Group unveiled their new stores, which specifically catered for kids. The three stores came to be known as, Kiddies Republic. They were located at Mall of the North, Chris Hani Crossing and Thavhani Mall in Thohoyandou. Immediately after that Sehoana advertised for Area Managers, Retail Managers, Finance Managers, Store Managers and Shop Assistants job opportunities at these stores.

Despite the initial success, Kiddies Republic Clothing Store encountered a series of challenges that ultimately led to its liquidation. On a statement released by Sehoana, it has been revealed that the store was not financially viable hence the liquidation. The Drip Footwear, however, remains operational and in business as usual.

Liquidation involves selling off assets, paying off debts, and winding down business operations. While a painful choice for any entrepreneur, it is sometimes the most viable option to mitigate financial losses and move forward.

Sehoana, became a household name after making a success of his Drip Footwear brand, which came into existence in 2019. He started from humble beginnings, with nothing but talent and dreams. The Drip Footwear founder worked really hard on those dreams, to become one of SA’s most affluent businessmen. The business became a multi-million rand operation, with celebrities like DJ Sbu Cassper Nyovest, Anele Mdoda and Clement Maosa as major clients. In such a short space of time, Sehoana managed to hire over a lot of people with more than 20 stores across the country.
