Caster Semenya Nominated For The 2017 World Women Athlete Of The Year. She continues to make South Africa proud year in and year out. The IAAF has released a list of 10 men and 10 women nominees who were selected by an international panel of athletics experts, comprising representatives from all six continental areas of the IAAF.
Representing South Africa in the women category is the one and only Olympic medalist Casper Semenya. Semenya is the world 800m champion, IAAF Diamond League champion and world 1 500m bronze medalist and went undefeated through the year in the 800m. Luvo Manyonga and Wayde van Niekerk are holding it down in the male category.
Voting closes on 16 October. At the conclusion of the voting process, three men and three women finalists will be announced by the IAAF. The male and female World Athletes of the Year will be announced live on stage at the IAAF Athletics Awards 2017.
