Siv Ngesi Pens A Heartfelt Post To Appreciate His Drag Queen Mother

Siv Ngesi Pens A Heartfelt Post To Appreciate His Drag Queen Mother. He is one individual who doesn’t let society dictates how he lives his life. Beginning of the year (2021), Siv Ngesi sent social media into a flat spin with the introduction of his alter ego, Sivanna. The award winning TV personality and actor rocked heels, make-up, wigs, for his debut as a Drag Queen.

Siv wore a bright red dress, spotting black sequin designs. He was in an intense makeup session in which his eyebrows were blocked to create a new brow shape. This perfect look was attained with the help of Cape Town drag queen and former SA’s Got Talent finalist, Manila von Teez.

While some fans were left in awe of the photo shoot, others were not impressed. A few moths after her debut, Sivanna bagged an iconic photo shoot with Adidas SA, which has collaborated with Beyonce’s fashion brand Ivy Park. This did not sit well with some members of the LGBTIQ+ community who were outraged that a heterosexual man got the gig, while there are several “real drag queens” in SA.

Despite all the backlash, Siv is still going strong. He recently took to Twitter to appreciate the one person who mentors him, Manila Von Teez. According to Siv, Von Teez does all Sivanna’s clothes, her make up, coaches her voice work as well as trains her on other things like body movements and poses.

An appreciation post to my drag Mother @ManilaVonTeez This queen makes all of Sivanna’s clothing, does her make-up, coached her voice work as well as her body movement/gestures/poses/ mannerisms! There is no Sivanna without Manila! Thanks for all you do for the Art of Drag,” Siv said.
