Cici Celebrates A Cool Career Milestone

Cici Celebrates A Cool Career Milestone. Congratulations are in order for Cici, who recently dropped her latest album, Busisiwe 2.0. The album is already doing well in the market, positioning Cici as one of the best vocalists of our time. The is the first No 1 Album for the first time in her career.
She is now on the cover of Apple Music’s ALPHA playlist. Her song Konakele together with other songs from female musicians has made the playlist.
“I’m on the cover of Apple Music’s ALPHA playlist! The playlist features my track Konakele + other tracks from amazing female artists.
Alpha is a space for redefining the meaning of a woman’s power. Power doesn’t have to be about fighting, standing up or changing history. The power of these artists lies in their existence. From there flows truth, authenticity, vulnerability, nuanced representation,” Cici gushed.
Cici has been in the music industry for years, and she remains consistent. At 16, the award winning artists and actress had already made it to the Top 32 in the singing competition Idols and the second round of an Afrikaans singing competition.
After school, she studied towards a Bachelor of Dramatic Arts at the University of the Witwatersrand. Because of financial pressure, she had to leave her studies at the beginning of the third year and took up a job as a promoter and then a desk job. Cici used to put on her headphones and sing along when she was working at reception. She left the job, and began years of performing in cabarets on cruise ships, which not only allowed her to see the world but also hone her skills as a performer and ‘showman’.
Her big break came in 2016 with the release of Runaway, which went on to win a host of awards. Two award-winning albums have followed, along with a blossoming acting career in leading South African series Generations and Rhythm City.
